FIFTY FIFTY, a rising K-pop girl group, has made history as the fastest K-pop act to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group, from the small entertainment agency Attract, debuted just four months ago with their first single “Cupid,” which has now made it to the 100th spot on the chart.
The news was announced on Billboard’s official social media on March 27, stating that “Cupid” had entered the Hot 100 chart for the week.
FIFTY FIFTY’s achievement is remarkable, considering the group’s short time in the industry and the fact that they are from a small entertainment agency. They have beaten out New Jeonseol, who made their debut and entered the Hot 100 after six months with their single “Ditto.”
“Cupid” is a heartfelt confession song that features a comfortable rhythm and sincere lyrics. Although it did not receive significant attention in South Korea, the song gained popularity in North America, climbing to the 106th spot on the Global 200 chart, 12th on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100, and 20th on the Billboard Emerging Artists chart as of March 25.
FIFTY FIFTY’s entry into the Hot 100 has been a significant milestone for the group, and they have undoubtedly captured the attention of the music industry with their debut.
