Apple launched its latest iPhones at an event held in the Steve Jobs Theatre last week. We saw the latest iPhone 11 series at the event including the iPhone 11 as well as the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. While the iPhone 11 Pro series is the flagship range from Apple, the iPhone 11 is an entry-level smartphone from the company. Also, it was surprising-yet-pleasing to see that the iPhone 11 was priced even lower than the iPhone Xr. This shows that the company is filling the pinch of current market and wants to increase the sales of its base iPhone.
Now, it looks like the plan from Apple has gone on as they would have liked to. Because of known Apple analyst, Ming Chi-Kuo from 9to5Mac, says that the demand for iPhone 11 has been even better than expected. This is because the prices of Apple’s iPhone 11 are very attractive and lower than what everyone expected. It is also a known fact that the majority of people want to own an iPhone but the steep prices of the flagship iPhone models scared them away for a long time. Thus, iPhone 11’s $699 starting price in the US has attracted a lot of pre-orders and it is said that the Chinese customers have also broken records of iPhone 11 pre-orders.
Apart from that, Apple announced new colour variants with the iPhone 11 while discontinuing some colours that were seen on the iPhone Xr. That move from Apple has also worked well because Kuo says that the newer colours are in demand more. Well, this is also obvious because Apple is a company which relies on market research and the new colours would have been decided based on user demands too. Therefore, it is obvious that users would buy the colours they wanted. It is also known that TF Securities is raising its estimate for new iPhone shipments in 2019 to 70-75 million units from 65-70 million units estimated previously.
