Netflix ended its one-month free experience service for new users from 3 a.m. on April 7. Netflix’s free user experience service was suspended sequentially from Mexico in 2019 to the U.S. in October 2020 and was completely terminated in more than 190 countries worldwide on April 7, 2021.
It is analyzed that Netflix’s move is related to its earnings growth. Netflix has seen a sharp increase in users due to the recent Korona 19 epidemic. As of the end of last year, the number of paid subscribers in the world reached 23.66 million, with the number of domestic subscribers reaching 10 million as of the end of February.
In line with this boom, Netflix raised the U.S. standard rate system in October last year and the Japanese rate system in February to strengthen its profitability. In addition, Netflix is known to conduct policy tests to restrict account sharing to prevent unauthorized viewing of its contents.
