Dutch authorities conducted excavation work in a small village to find a treasure buried by the Nazis, following a map released to the public earlier this year. However, the search yielded no results, with only items from World War II found.
The map, one of 1,300 documents related to the Second World War, was released by the Dutch National Archives after 75 years of secrecy.
The map allegedly marked the location where Nazi soldiers buried coins, watches, jewels, and gold coins worth approximately £15.85 million today, but no treasure was found. Experts speculate that the treasure may have been removed at some point in the past.
