One dead, six injured in shooting at Mississippi restaurant on Cinco de Mayo

A shooting at The Scratch Kitchen in Mississippi during a Cinco de Mayo party has left one person dead and at least six injured. The suspect remains at large and the investigation is ongoing. The restaurant owner stated that the shooter was not a customer and did not have permission to be on the premises.

The surviving victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment, but the extent of their injuries is unknown. The man killed was identified as Chase Harmon, 19, of Pascagoula.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made yet. According to the restaurant’s owner, the shooter ran past employees who were doing security checks at the entrance to the patio.
