Saweetie has broken her silence on the video footage that surfaced online earlier this week of a physical altercation between herself and ex-boyfriend Quavo

Saweetie and Quavo, rap’s most wholesome couple announced that they are over by Saweetie on March 19 on her Twitter. She tweeted that she’s single, writing that she had suffered too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes.
I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.

Quavo responded the same day on Twitter, expressing his discomfort with airing out dirty laundry from their relationship of nearly two years. “I know you want to make this into a show so I’ll play my part just this one time,” he said. “I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best.”

I don’t normally put my business out there, especially my personal life. I feel the need to address this so there are no false narratives.
Earlier this week, a video posted by TMZ showed Saweetie and the Migos rapper, 29, in a physical altercation in an elevator at her L.A. apartment last year. Saweetie is speaking out about a recently circulated video of an altercation between her and her ex-boyfriend Quavo.
In the minute-and-a-half-long clip, Saweetie struck Quavo in the face and threw a suitcase out of an elevator before the Migos member dragged his then-girlfriend into the elevator and fell on top of her. Saweetie, offscreen for most of the footage, seemingly remained lying on the floor before she struggled to pick herself up and limp out of the elevator as Quavo watched.
The rapper, born Diamonté Harper, says the two “reconciled” after the 2020 incident but admits that there were “too many other hurdles to overcome” in the couple’s relationship.
“This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on,” Saweetie, 27, says in a statement to PEOPLE. “I kindly ask that everyone respect my privacy during this time.”
Saweetie speaking out on the physical altercation between herself and Quavo comes shortly after news surfaced online today that the LAPD is investigating the elevator altercation. The LAPD are considering the possibility of the fight being a domestic case, in which both rappers are at fault.
