Japanese animation ‘Suzume’s no Tojimari’ dominates the box office, grossing $28,710,239 with 4.5 million viewers. Directed by Makoto Shinkai, the film depicts the adventures of Suzume and Sota, who embark on a mission to close a dangerous door.
The film has held the number one position for 24 consecutive days since its release on the 8th of this month. The movie is part of Shinkai’s ‘Disaster Trilogy,’ which includes ‘Your Name’ and ‘Weathering with You’ and is based on the 2011 Japan earthquake. The film’s success continues to soar despite competition from the action blockbuster ‘Dungeon and Dragon: Honor of Thieves.’
