A 17-year-old teenager is currently in critical condition and fighting for his life after being shot and run over at a gas station in Canoga Park, Southern California. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning at an Arco gas station located at the intersection of De Soto Avenue and Vanowen Street.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the victim and his friend were at the mini-mart outside window when a fight broke out between them and a group of suspects. The altercation escalated when one or more of the suspects produced a firearm and began shooting. Unfortunately, the victim was hit by the gunfire and sustained serious injuries. All the suspects fled the scene in their cars, including the victim’s friend.
It is believed that the victim’s friend may have unintentionally run him over while trying to escape from the scene. The vehicles used by the suspects were identified as a white Dodge Charger and a white BMW, but no detailed description of the suspects was available at the time of reporting.
Investigators found an Alfa Romeo SUV with bullet holes on its windshield a few blocks away from the gas station, which they believe was the vehicle that the victim’s friend used to flee the scene.
At present, the victim’s name has not been released, and further details about the shooting remain unknown. The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing to the public for any information that may help them solve this crime.
