Apple has been found to have included Satoshi Nakamoto’s Bitcoin whitepaper in its Mac operating system since 2018. A Mac developer, Andy Baio, discovered the whitepaper while repairing a printer and found that it had been included in the system files. The whitepaper can be accessed by running a command to open internal files and has been included in all versions of Mac OS since Mojave (10.14) up to the recent update of Ventura (13.3). The reason why Apple included the whitepaper, which has no connection to the Mac OS, for over five years is unclear, and its inclusion has been seen as a waste of storage space. Baio expects it to be removed from future versions.
