(PRESSREELS) The music video for BLACKPINK’s debut song “Whistle” has surpassed 500 million views on YouTube.
YG Entertainment said on the 20th that “The number of YouTube views for ‘Whistle’ music video exceeded 500 million as of 10 a.m. on the same day.”
It is BLACKPINK’s sixth 500 million-view music video following “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “BOOMBAYA,” “Kill This Love,” “As If It’s Your Last” and “Playing With Fire.” This is the highest record for a K-pop girl group.
“Whistle” is one of the double titles of BLACKPINK’s debut single “SQUARE ONE.” At that time, she topped iTunes in 14 foreign countries, which was unusual for a rookie.
BLACKPINK will make a comeback on June 26 after a year and two months with their full-length album “How You Like That.” The song will be performed for the first time on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
