The best Japanese album of the year

(PRESSREELS) According to the latest chart released by Japan’s Oricon Chart, BTS’s fourth full-length Japanese album “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~,” released on the 15th, sold 447,869 copies, topping the daily album chart.

This is more than double the sales volume of 188,000 copies on the first day of the third full-length Japanese album “FACE YOURSELF,” which was released in April 2018, and realized the growing popularity of BTS.

The figure is also the largest of all first-day sales of all albums released in Japan this year, as well as a new record for first-day sales of all foreign artists.

“MAP OF THE SOUL: 7~THE JOURNEY~” also showed an unrivaled presence on iTunes charts around the world. Immediately after its release, it topped iTunes’ Top Albums chart in 81 countries and regions including Japan, the U.S., Canada, Britain, Germany and India on the 16th (as of 8 a.m.).

BTS’s fourth full-length Japanese album “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~” contains a total of 13 songs, including the original Japanese songs “Stay Gold” and “Your Eyes Tell,” as well as the title track “ON” from “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7,” which was released in February.
