(PRESSREELS) The “GRAPHIC LYRICS” series, which describes the music of the group BTS as an illustration, became a bestseller just a week after its release.
According to the online and offline comprehensive weekly Best released by Kyobo Bookstore on July 2, all five books of BTS’ graphic Lyrics series have entered the top 10. On the 24th of last month, the first day of preorders, the graphic Lyrics series, which ranks first to sixth in daily sales of Kyobo Bookstore, showed its potential to chart up. In particular, Volume.5’s “Butterfly” has proved its great interest in the new category of “Graphics Lyrics” and its high popularity with BTS, both at the same time as the overall best second place in the essay category.

Graphic Lyrics has drawn much attention from the beginning of its release by presenting a new way of enjoying music with the catchphrase “Sing, Become a Picture.” It is said to have gone a step further from the existing illustration book and planned the narrative of the lyrics with a solid story, conveying the emotion of the lyrics with sympathy and consolation. In addition, the Korean lyrics were written in the original text and published in Korea, the U.S., and Japan at the same time, showing the power of BTS’s lyrics that go beyond the limits of language.
Graphic Lyrics is one of the various attempts of Big Hit, which has steadily attempted to expand its music, knowledge and property rights (IP). Last year, Big Hit IP introduced a variety of official products, including BTS’ music-themed clothing and pansy products, and drew much attention as a complex experience space called “BTS Pop-up: House of BTS,” which was expressed by applying the image of music to the space. “Graphics Lyrics, a new way to enjoy music, is significant in that it was presented in a form that not only music fans but also the public can enjoy,” Big Hit Entertainment said. “We will come up with new ideas so that we can enjoy music in our daily lives through various music IP expansion projects.”
