Reveal album message and discussion of composition…”I want you to express your sincerity and comfort and sympathize with me.”
BTS, which has recently shared the process of working on its new album with fans, is drawing attention by unveiling a group meeting this time.
BTS released a video of the meeting on May 11 on YouTube’s official channel “BANGTAN TV” where all seven members gather to discuss the concept and message of the new album.
It is a video that gives the impression of watching BTS’ meeting scene as it is. According to the agency Big Hit Entertainment, the YouTube Live recorded a maximum number of viewers at 310,000 at the same time.
Members exchanged views on the theme and composition of the album and the desired music style in a relaxed atmosphere.
In particular, they brought up several keywords such as “Carry On” and talked about what kind of message they would send to those struggling with COVID19. BTS also had a hiatus in its activities, with its new world tour suspended entirely due to COVID19.
“I want to tell you that no matter what happens outside, people’s lives will continue,” RM said. “I thought the most important thing would be to show how we keep our daily lives going.”
“When I look at Weverse (fan community) and Twitter, there were many people who had a hard time because our concert was canceled,” he said. How nice would it be if our hearts were delivered without saying anything?” he recalled the keyword “telepathy.”
Suga suggested that he “would rather be able to give comfort to an unspecified majority metaphorically, like “SPRING DAY,” than direct consolation. I hope the keyword for the new album will be a letter. I think it would be fun to write several stories as the song itself becomes a letter,” he said.
“I’m so grateful for the things I normally do for granted and the trivial things,” Jimin said. “I thought there would be a way to solve them in a fun and comfortable way.”
Jin suggested, “Why don’t we write (a song) in terms of ‘sympathy’?” and j-hope said, “I think it would be good to show the color of our old raw songs.”
V also said it would be nice to have a really exciting song in it, while Jungkook said it would be nice to have a song that can relieve stress.
Since then, the members have been freely discussing the size of the album, which is about five to seven songs, and the composition of the group and unit songs.
BTS has recently shown a series of images of them coming up with a new album during a hiatus hit by COVID19. It is a new “online communication” attempt to allow fans to observe the work process itself, not the result.
On the 7th, V, RM and J-Hope also gathered to unveil their new album’s “visual meeting.”
