(PRESSREELS) The group BTS V set a record of topping the global iTunes Top Song Chart in 101 countries with his self-composed song “Sweet Night.”
V’s “Sweet Night” topped the iTunes Top Song Chart in Zimbabwe, Bahamas, and Antigabuda on the morning of the 7th (Korea time), adding three more countries to set a milestone of topping the iTunes Top Song Chart in 101 countries.
V’s record is the first male solo artist not only in K-pop but also in the world, and only Adele (102 countries) is the solo artist who has now topped the list in more than 100 countries with the best record.
V, the only K-pop solo artist to make a splendid debut on the global chart after PSY at the same time in the U.S. and the U.K., surpassed PSY’s “Gangnam Style” (86 countries), which had not been broken for eight years, in May and pushed the momentum to take K-pop’s reputation to the next level with his achievement of topping 101 countries.

V, who has built his own music world with beautiful melodies and lyrical lyrics, has achieved musical and commercial success with “Sweet Night.”
On iTunes, V continued to dominate the list, ranking first in the U.S. and Britain, first in the world wide, first in Europe, first in the top 40 music video charts, and the Arab all-kill record.
On the Billboard chart, he ranked second on the digital song sales chart and was the only Korean artist to be listed on the top 3 chart along with BTS and Psy. He was the first Hungarian single-chart K-pop soloist to top 1 and the only Korean solo artist to be ranked on the British official Big Top 40 chart after Psy.
Especially in Japan, where V is very popular, it ranked second on the iTunes top song chart, which is the best record for a Korean solo artist’s Korean release song, not a local release song.
The Japanese economic magazine “Toyo Keizai” is one of the popular factors in the drama “Lee Tae-won Class,” which also shed light on the fact that V, the absolute king of K-pop, participated in the OST.
Fans celebrated the milestone by placing the hashtag “#SweetNight 101 countries, #ChartBusterV” at No. 1 and No. 2 in real-time trends.
V, who is called “RECORDBREAKER V” and “RECORDSETTER V,” has added a new nickname, “ChartBuster V,” proving that “V is the only one who breaks the record set by V.”
