This is not a joke! Two of our favorite things combined together! Hilary Duff and “How I Met Your Mother” are back, but with a little spin off. The talented actress will now be the star of Hulu´s new show “How I Met Your Father”. The streamer has given the sequel series a 10-episode order with Aptaker and Berger back as creators, writers and exec producers.
Hilary Duff stars as Sophie, who stars the series by telling her son the story of how she met his father, just as how Ted Mosby did in the original series. The plot starts in 2021 where Sophie and her group of friends are trying to figure out who they are and what will be of their lives while scrolling through dating apps together.
Craig Erwich, president of Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment, said that “How I Met Your Mother” is one of the most innovative and beloved comedies on TV. Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, the creators, have an inspired take on this new version that honors what Carter Bays and Craig Thomas created with original franchise. The “How I Met Your Father” writers trust a lot the selection of Hilary Duff as the star of the series because of her passion and infectious energy.
