The argument that people shouldn’t believe the retirement announcements of rappers is gaining momentum. Logic, who officially announced his retirement in July, also finished his solo discography. Still, he is expected to reappear in the hip-hop scene through a joint project with a legendary producer.
Logic, which had a surprise release of “Tired in Malibu” in early April, released a new song, “Mars Only pt. 3,” last weekend. Madlib participated in this track as a producer, and the video description and lyrics imply the release of a full-length project by a collaborative duo called MadGic.
In an interview with YouTuber The Needle Drop in September, Logic expressed a strong commitment to collaboration with Madlib, saying, “If we make an album together, we will make it with Madlib unconditionally.” They also captured the group name MadGic in the remarks at the time.
Below is the official audio of MadGic(Logic & Madlib)’s first public song, “Mars Only pt. 3”.
