Cho Yong-pil, also known as the “king of Korean pop,” will hold the “2023 Cho Yong-pil & The Great Birth Concert” at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul on May 13th. The concert will mark his first performance at the stadium in five years since his 50th debut anniversary concert in 2018.
This highly anticipated concert is expected to be the last to be held at Jamsil Stadium before it undergoes renovation starting in June. The stadium, which opened in 1984, is a symbolic venue that hosted the 1986 Seoul Asian Games and the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Cho Yong-pil has had a strong bond with the stadium for over 20 years and has performed six concerts there, including the first solo concert by a Korean singer in 2003.
The upcoming concert is a chance for fans to celebrate Cho Yong-pil’s music legacy and pay tribute to the iconic venue before its renovation. Cho Yong-pil has earned a reputation as a living legend in the Korean music industry, and his concerts are highly regarded as the ultimate dream stage for all Korean singers.
Cho Yong-pil released two new songs last year and performed his “2022 Cho Yong-pil & The Great Birth Concert” at the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium for four days, marking his first in-person concert in four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
