The prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, the singer and entertainer, speaks about his health complications. It seems that his silence for quite a while has a reason.
During an interview for “Good Morning America,” this rocker shared to the audience what he, his wife Sharon Osbourne, and his children are fighting these days. They had been dealing with a diagnosis of Parkinson as of February last February.
According to the legendary singer, “It’s been challenging for us all,” Osbourne told Roberts. “I did my last show New Year’s Eve at The Forum. Then I had a bad fall. I had to have surgery on my neck, which screwed all my nerves.”
His wife added, “It’s PRKN 2, There are so many different types of Parkinson’s; it’s not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body. And it’s — it’s like you have a good day, a good day, and then a terrible day.”
As of now, he has postponed his world tour and recovering at home, taking some prescribed medications and taking nerve pills. “I got a numbness down this arm for the surgery, and my legs keep going cold, I don’t know if that’s the Parkinson’s or what, you know, but that’s — see, that’s the problem. Because they cut nerves when they did the surgery. I’d never heard of nerve pain, and it’s a weird feeling,” Osbourne added.
This isn’t the first time that he had battled with his health. In the past years, there had been rumors about his health state but denied them. He even had been rumored with Parkinson’s. Osbourne, who has been on the road for 50 years, had a very public life because of the popular reality TV show, The Osbourne’s.
Now he is all out in the open. “I’m no good with secrets. I cannot walk around with it anymore ’cause it’s like I’m running out of excuses, you know?” he exclaimed.
His children, Jack and Kelly, noticed it first. The hardest thing is watching somebody that you love to suffer. It’s become a bit of — I think a role reversal for us, where we have to be like, ‘Snap out of it. Come on, we — we have to admit all that’s happening here,’ so that we can get over this. And it took a while for everyone to be on the same page,” Kelly said.
With the support of his wife and kids, Osbourne is recovering soon. He even turned to doctors from out of the country for different treatments.
“We’ve reached a point here in this country where we can’t go any further because we’ve got all the answers we can get here,” Sharon added, “So in April — we’re going to a professional in Switzerland. And he deals with — getting your immune system at its peak.”
Ozzy Osbourne affirmed his fans, “I wanna see my people, you know. It’s like I’m — I miss them so much”. Whereas Sharon reaffirmed, “He’s going to get back out there. And he’s going to do what he loves to do; I know it.”
