(PRESSREELS) Boy group STRAY KIDS’ performance in Japan scheduled for next month was canceled in the aftermath of COVID 19.
JYP Entertainment, the agency, said on July 17 that it will cancel its planned concert in Yokohama, Japan, from March 29 to 30.
The agency explained, “We considered the safety of audiences, artists, and employees in consideration of the situation such as the spread of COVID 19 and the extension of the Japanese government’s entry (restriction) measures.”
STRAY KIDS also canceled its Osaka performance in March due to COVID 19.
They attracted more than 8,000 spectators with a showcase held in Tokyo last December, and made their official debut with their best album “SKZ2020” in March.
The album hit the top 10 K-pop albums released in Japan on the first half of the year chart released by Tower Records, a major Japanese record shop. Last month, he topped the Oricon weekly singles chart with his Japanese single “Top.”
However, the number of confirmed COVID 1919 cases in Japan has increased, and since March, the Japanese government has imposed restrictions on entry to Korea, limiting local activities.
