Tecate Pa’l Norte is one of the most popular music festivals in Latinoamerica that takes place every year in Monterrey, Mexico since 2012. But on April 17th, 2021 it took an amazing turn by being a virtual event, and made half million people travel through space to a whole new dimension. This massive event is the first virtual music festival in the world with 3 stages, 18 artists, and more than 1,000 minutes of music.
Tecate Pa´l Norte is a festival that every year offers different stages, and the virtual version was not an exception. The viewers had the option to go to 3 different stages at any moment of the event and enjoy a different amazing design inspired by islands, water and jungles. The 3D and special effects came to life thanks to the collaboration the organizer Apodaca Group had with audiovisual production companies from Belgium, United States and Mexico. These companies have built their reputation by working with big projects such as Tomorrowland Around the World and NYE.

18 talents of different genres made the three stages shake. Some of the most expected artists were Guaynaa, Mon Laferte, Drake Bell and Siddartha. And as every year, Tecate Pa’l Norte has a surprise artist that is not revealed until the sirens take off. This edition was not the exception and everyone got excited when the surprise artist, Belinda, took the screen and ruled the stage.
Additionally, there was a special stage with the popular Mexican stand-upper Franco Escamilla and “El Diablo Squad” fulled of unseen footage. From interviews with special guests, freestyle to stand-up comedy. The squad allowed the public to have fun along them by listening to their stories, talks and experiences in such a relaxed mood. Watching them was like chilling out with friends.
Multiple interactive experiences were enjoyed during the 7 hours of the festival. This was the first time where users were able to create their own account and participate in different dynamics to get the opportunity to win an exclusive coin created for the Pa’l Norte Virtual World called “Leones”. The more coins the user earns, the better experience will have, because those can be exchangeable for merchandise on online stores.
