The Oscars 2021 are pretty near and it will take place on April 26th, but with an amazing turn. The magical event every year surprises the public by being different, and now it will take a cinematographic touch by defying the difficulties that COVID-19 has brought. Unlike BAFTA or the Golden Globes 2020, the ceremony will be celebrated outdoors, and without video calls.
The Oscars 2021 will be hosted by multiple public figures who are Angela Bassett, Bong Joon-Ho, Brad Pitt, Bryan Cranston, Don Cheadle, Harrison Ford, Joaquin Phoenix, Marlee Matlin, Reese Whiterspoon, Renée Zellweger, Rita Moreno, and Zendaya. Apparently, the event wants to adopt a concept where there is no specific host, because the last official MC that has existed was Jimmy Kimmel in 2018.
The ceremony will take place outdoors at the Union Station railway center in Los Angeles. There will also be a special live show from the Dolby Theatre, which is the location that the Oscars tend to take place. This segment will be performed by Glenn Weiss, Stacey Sher, Jesse Collins and Steven Soderbergh.
The producer on a press release shared that they want the ceremony to be like a movie, not a TV show. They have decided to present the Oscars as it has never been seen before, but they are also conscious that they should prioritize the public health and security for all the participants. Therefore, the goal is to deliver to a global audience what they deserve while adapting to the pandemic circumstances.
The Oscars 2021 are taking a big step by defying the pandemic and doing the event in person. One of the main reasons is that sometimes technology can be a huge cons than a confident. One of the organizer’s biggest fear is a bad connection, and there is no point of doing pre-recorded speeches if part of the magic is the surprise factor. Therefore, the public is excited and intrigued by the way one of the most important events are going to handle the pandemic.
