The New ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ Trailer; Now With a Less Horrible CGI

Published

on

A new trailer for “Sonic the Hedgehog” has been released by Paramount Pictures.

It seems that this time, the fans are pleased with the significant redesign of its character. The company first aired its initial trailer in April this year and has gotten a lot of backlashes from its fans.

Many unhappy fans took into social media their woes regarding the design. One user made a comment on that trailer and said “April fools was 29 days ago. You guys missed your chance Paramount”.

This wasn’t the first time that these fans made some criticisms. When they saw the promotional poster, they were griping about the strangeness of the legs of Sonic

They were afraid that the character wouldn’t fit the full character. Some of them said that body proportions and their facial features were inconsistent with the original version that was popular in the 1990s.

Jeff Fowler, the one behind the character, wrote on his Twitter, “Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount and Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast”.

What’s the new Sonic look like?

The newest version of Sonic has now bigger eyes and less human-like teeth. The color and texture of the film were also different.

Sonic had an estimate of $90 million, but because of the changes could prove to be more expensive to the production company. Artists wouldn’t only redesign the character, but they would need to reinsert the new appearance to its film. This caused the delay of the release of the movie that would have been in November.

Paramount Pictures recently released a new trailer on Tuesday and showed off the newly redesigned Sonic.

Luckily, fans are now pleased with the changes.

Fowler wrote a message on his Twitter once again “Today is the DAY! I could not be more than excited to share our new Sonic with you. THANK YOU for the patience and support. This wouldn’t have been possible without the fans.” Support from fans all over the world was met.

Sonic Team Argentina “Thank you, Jeff, for listening to the Sonic fanbase! We will continue supporting you and all the people who make this possible. We can’t wait to watch the movie in theaters! Greetings from the Argentinian Sonic Community!”.

Another fan wrote, “Thank you !!! It looks amazing! You have done me so proud! He looks perfect, and this new trailer really sells the movie. Sending love and Thanks from Australia. #SonicMovie”

The internet seemed to fire up with a lot of reaction from Sonic fans. There were a lot of comments, jokes, mixed emotions, and some theories.

Though there are still some of them, who felt that it didn’t reach their expectations. The trailer didn’t show much about the movie. It just may want to show off the redesigned Sonic.

Sonic the Hedgehog movie hits theaters on February 14, 2020.
