After news surfaced about Laurel Griggs last week saying that she has passed away, reports has confirmed the cause of Laurel Griggs’ death.Â
She died on November 5 from a massive asthma attack.
According to reports, the actress called out to her father in their Manhattan apartment while doing her apartment. She said she didn’t feel right.
Andy Griggs said her daughter would never normally say things like that.
The 13-year-old actress was born with asthma condition. She was given medication for her illness since then.
How did Laurel Griggs die?
According to her dad, she suffered the same attack just three years ago. After that incident, her parents would monitor her closely.
Last Tuesday, it was reported that her breathing became intense that they decided to have their daughter need urgent help.
Laurel’s mother said, “Andy, get her to the hospital right away”. Some cops performed CPR in the police vehicle while they were rushing her to the Mt. Sinai Hospital.
Unfortunately, she died a few hours after.
Grigg’s grandfather David Rivlin posted a Facebook post addressing what happened.
In the post, he wrote, “The world lost a real princess who wanted to make the future happiness for all.
“The acting was just a childhood dream come true. She had big plans for the future.” Â
Her grandfather thanked all who sent their condolences.
“Though my heart is broken forever with the tragic loss of my granddaughter, Laurel, I want to thank all of you for your kind words that have meant so much as I grieve for her loss. I am eternally grateful to all of you.”
Laurel Griggs is one of the younger Broadway stars who paved her way since she was only six years old.
She even joined the crew of the star-studded “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” with Scarlett Johansson as one of them.
Laurel also played well as Ivanka in “Once” between 2013 and 2015.
Alongside Steve Carell, Kristen Stewart and others, she appeared in the 2016 romantic comedy, Café Society. She appeared in other hundreds of Broadway performances.
Laurel Griggs Tributes
Co-Broadway actress, Eliza Holland Madore, from “Café Society” took to her Instagram to post a photo of them.
The caption read, “I am deeply saddened by the sudden loss of one of my Ivanka sisters. Laurel – you were always smiling and always made other people laugh. I’m so incredibly grateful that I got to know you. You will never be forgotten, and we will never stop loving you.”
Another co-star wrote on his Instagram, “My @oncemusical family tragically lost one of our youngest members this past week… We will never forget this sweet, talented young soul”.
The Young Broadway Twitter account shared a tribute for Laurel.
The post read that they were extremely sad for the young actress’ passing.
“Laurel was a brilliant young lady who appears on Broadway in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Once. We send our condolences to their loved ones at this difficult time.”

It was reported that Grigg’s school, Clinton School in the Chelsea neighbourhood, was also closed for half an hour in her honour.
Additionally, Broadway has also dimmed its lights on Friday in honour of the young Broadway star.
