(PRESSREELS) “On August 21, BTS’s digital single will be released,” Big Hit Entertainment said on its community platform BTS Weverse on July 27 and on BTS’s official Twitter account.
Prior to the announcement, BTS released the news of the single’s release at midnight on the 27th, hosting the broadcast of ‘Honey FM JI.JIN.JUNG’s R.A.D.I.O. #A_Big_Announeration’.
The members said, “We will release a single for ARMY on August 21. The album we are working on is being prepared for release in the second half of this year, and we decided to release a single first because we wanted to release it to you quickly. It’s a very difficult time around the world as COVID19 continues, and I wanted to give my fans a boost.”
“This new song is very exciting, and it’s an English song like ‘MIC Drop’ released earlier and ‘Waste It On Me’ featured in it. I thought it would be better to sing this song in English. “I recorded the guide, and I got a new feeling.”
Meanwhile, BTS made history in the K-pop scene with its fourth full-length album ‘MAP OF THE SOUL : 7’ released in February. Not only did it rank first on the U.S. Billboard’s main album chart “Billboard 200,” but it also ranked fourth on the main single chart “Hot 100” with its title track “ON,” setting the Korean group’s best record. Also, on the first day of its release, it sold 2.65 million copies and earned the Quadruple Million certification with 4.26 million copies sold on Gaon Chart’s “2020 First Half Album Chart.”
