The group BTS V is breaking a new K-pop record for “Fancam.”
On May 30, “Pied Piper” fan direct camera of “2019 Global Fan Meeting Magic Shop” surpassed 10 million views. With this, V has become the only K-pop idol to own six fancams with more than 10 million views.
In particular, the 2018 Lotte Family Concert “Mic Drop” fan cam, which has 15 million views, and the “Pied Piper” fan cam, which surpassed 10 million views this time, boast the first and second most views on K-pop male idols’ unofficial direct camera.
V’s close-up camera, which is the most popular both officially and unofficially, is also well-known as an “idol textbook” that shows how to take control of the stage and fascinate the audience.
Fans often see idol juniors watching V’s stage fancam, a glimpse of his colleagues’ recognition and admiration for V’s performance as an “idol’s idol.”
V’s fan cam “Boy With Luv,” which was posted on Mnet’s official YouTube channel, not only set a new record of 100 million views in 10 months, the shortest period in K-pop history, but also has the most “likes” ever.
V’s fan cam is still receiving much love as the most popular cam, producing various records such as the top spot on YouTube’s official channel Top 50 in 2019, the top spot on the “M2 YEAR END AWARDS” and the top spot on the popular video of “REMIND 2019 HELLO 2020”
In 2020, V’s video also garnered more than 20 million views on MPD direct camera “On,” and in “100 Fancams I’ve seen the most in history,” as many as 12 are V’s fancams.
V’s stage, called a stage master for his outstanding visuals and charismatic performances, is proving to be a “fancam emperor” with enthusiastic support from not only fans but also junior idols.
