Coronavirus in USA Considered to be a ‘High Risk’

People have now growing concern of Coronavirus especially in the USA.

At the moment, voluntary quarantine protocols are being done to people who went back to New York from different areas which were affected by the outbreak.

There were about 700 travellers who came back. Most of them were at risk of the infamous coronavirus, COVID-19 because they travelled from mainland China.

The New York State Health Department authorities announced on Tuesday.

This new report also includes travellers who are to be quarantined out of New York City. From the 700 people, none of them didn’t have any symptoms from the virus.

The health authorities monitored there for 14 days.

Every day, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports to the state health officials the names and contact information of those travellers who came from mainland China and were screened by US.

Customs and Border Protection as per the spokesperson of the health. She said that the locations of the people who are quarantined would not be provided to the public.

County north of New York City, Westchester, and said that they have voluntary quarantined individuals who are in their homes.

Several 26 travellers to be specific whereas Neighboring Rockland County said it has two people on quarantine and three others who completed the 14-day isolation.

The health officials of New York City didn’t respond yet as to how many people are doing voluntary quarantine to the different areas like Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx and Staten Island. They didn’t give information also for Nassau and Suffolk Counties.

Every day, these individuals are checked by the local health departments for signs and symptoms.

These include shortness of breath, breathing difficulties, cough, fever and difficulty in breathing. It could lead to pneumonia, severe respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and death.

The spokesperson said, “voluntary self-isolation will help limit the potential for spread of this virus.”

This voluntary self-isolation includes video monitoring through smartphones and food deliveries which are provided by the local health authorities.

For signs or symptoms, these persons will be transported to the county public safety and emergency services agencies. These number of people are changing everyday too as some of them have passed the 14-day quarantine.

This type of quarantine is different from the ones who were quarantined from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.

They are now at some of the military bases in Texas, Colorado and California. 13 of them were favourable of the virus and are being treated at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

As of the present, 40 of them have the virus.

The state of Alabama is now treating the virus-infected passengers at the FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston.

Dr Anthony Fauci, head of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that Americans should be prepared for the outbreak.

He said, “If we have a pandemic, then almost certainly we are going to get impacted.” He noted that travel warnings for China, South Korea, Iran, Italy and Mongolia are now being implemented.

As of writing,  at least 63 people were being treated for coronavirus in the USA as of Thursday, most of them evacuated from Asia.
