Mike Bloomberg is qualified for the next democratic debate.
This billionaire received 19 per cent of the support from the poll that allows him to be on stage for the discussion on February 19 in Las Vegas.
The poll is the latest from a series of national as well as statewide surveys and showed that Blomberg is on the rise.
His competitors accused him of buying his nomination from his wealth.
For candidates, they should have four national polls which show 10% or higher support. They have until February 18, 11:59 PM to qualify for the debate.
Furthermore, candidates also could qualify by winning one delegate from the Iowa caucus or New Hampshire primary.
The unofficial survey from NBC cites Joe Biden, former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass as qualified for that stage.
Kevin Sheekey, Bloomberg’s campaign manager, made a statement and said: “Our campaign is seeing a groundswell of support across the country, and qualifying for the February 19 debate is the latest sign that Mike’s plan and ability to defeat Donald Trump is resonating with more and more Americans.”
He added, “Mike is looking forward to joining the other Democratic candidates on stage and making a case for why he’s the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump and unite the country.”
Another billionaire in the race is Tom Steyer, but he didn’t qualify yet. He sent a complaint to the Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez about the time frame for the polling. He urged the NDC that the voting was too short and that they allow their older polls. There has been no answer yet from the DNC.
Sanders, who is currently leading in the national polls, accused DNC of the rule change over the bidding of Bloomberg. It was earlier known that Bloomberg didn’t qualify because he didn’t accept campaign donations.
As per one of Sander’s adviser, Jeff Weaver, “To now change the rules in the middle of the game to accommodate Mike Bloomberg, who is trying to buy his way into the Democratic nomination, is wrong. That’s the definition of a rigged system.”
One candidate’s adviser, who dropped out from the race last week, noted that “If you look at the new DNC debate thresholds as anything other than, ‘Get Andrew Yang off stage and put Mike Bloomberg on,’ then you are high”.
But according to Trump, he didn’t like the way Bloomberg is on stage, “He’s a lightweight. He’s also one of the worst debaters I’ve ever seen. His presence is zero,” Trump said.
As from the Fox new last month, Democratic voters would choose a candidate who will fundamentally change the Washington and someone who could restore the political system in terms of health care and a lot more.
Who will be the candidate who could partake on the issues of the local community? These Democrats will try to speak about the concerns of the citizens on the next debate.
