NEW K.ID, the No.1 TV channel for all K-Pop entertainment and source (https://cutt.ly/NEWKID), announced its weekly chart for the 3rd week of August.
The K-Pop queens retain their throne as BLACKPINK maintains its #1 spot in the NEW K.ID’s weekly chart for four consecutive weeks as they surpass WINNER’s previous record of three. BLACKPINK recently dropped a music video teaser of their new song ‘Ice Cream (with Selena Gomez)’ which will be released on August 28th at 12 AM EST. Even with only 17 seconds, the teaser was enough to excite the fans and show a glimpse of what the song will be like in this highly-anticipated collaboration. Ariana Grande also gave them a shout on her Instagram story, saying “proud of the squad and so excited for this!!!”

There was no big shocker as BLACKPINK, PENTAGON, SHINee, and GWSN all retained their spots in Top 5. Top 3 in this week’s idol ranking, SHINee’s TAEMIN, will release his third solo album, ‘Never Gonna Dance Again: Act 1’ on September 7th. His comeback will be divided into three unique parts: Prologue, Act 1, and Act 2. In his new album, TAEMIN explores a theme of identity and tells a story of his struggle in finding his vision as an artist. Following his success of ‘2 KIDS’ which topped the iTunes chart in 21 regions, TAEMIN will continue to entertain his fans worldwide.
Breaking into the NEW K.ID’s weekly chart for the first time, AKMU is ranked at #6. AKMU is slated to release three new singles starting this September. AKMU is making their comeback in 11 months since the release of their 3rd album, ‘SAILING’. A YG’s representative remarks, “AKMU is releasing new songs in three installments from September through the end of the year where each of the songs has its own and unique AKMU twists.” AKMU’s LEE SU HYUN has also been picked by Disney Korea to sing the Mulan’s famous soundtrack, ‘Reflection’. She did not hide her excitement of singing for the Disney’s new movie.
Coming in at #10, CRAVITY is also making a comeback with their new extended play record, ‘CRAVITY SEASON 2. HIDEOUT: THE NEW DAY WE STEP INTO’. The title track, ‘Flame’ represents the CRAVITY’s passion for their craft and will incorporate Urban-HipHop sounds into the track. It is supposed to be CRAVITY’s most ambitious attempt so far, showcasing powerful yet more matured sounds of the evolved CRAVITY members.
