Many have been amazed by the surprise of Marvel’s Black Widow trailer. It opens with a shot from Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Posted on December 4 in YouTube, we first see the infamous location to the MCU fans. For those who have recalled, this city is always crucial for a lot of the Avengers’ history. This was where Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson, and Clint Barton, played by Jeremy Renner, were able to undertake as Shield agents.
This was an important event as both of them were both wrangled by Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury.
The Black Widow was looking into a mirror and was saying, “I used to have nothing.” Then the Avengers’ history started. Her flashbacks began. There were some clips from the past Marvel movies.
One was her training in the Red Room during the Age of Ultron followed by welcoming her future fellow Avengers on a helicarrier and having some moments from one of the Avengers, Clint and working with Nick Fury with all the actions going on in the Lemurian Star that was from Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Going back to the scene where Natasha was staring in the mirror, she said, “ And then I got this job, this family…” and bringing her back to the present, she glared, “ But nothing lasts forever.”
This line is something between the Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity war. The two years when the Avengers were shattered and brought them to take sides.
Natasha first took the bottom of the Accords, specifically of Tony Stark.
Still, she changed her hand and teamed over to the others and running around with Steve Rogers, and this eventually caused her to be on several wanted lists.
Back again in the present, in Budapest, Natasha got off from the train, watching her surroundings and keeping her head low. She wasn’t an Avenger anymore but a woman who was supposed to be against society. Suddenly an unknown man came up to her and said: “ Heard, you had to leave in a hurry.” She replied, “ It’s never easy these days.”
It’s not easy guessing whom she is talking to, probably Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, played by William Hurt.
Cutting back to a scene where Natasha was looking over some old ID cards, the voice was asking “SO what are you going to do?” she looked into some of the cards and reflected “I have loved a lot of lives, but I am done running from my past.”
Now you see Natasha walking on an empty apartment of Budapest. And another mystery voice, this time, a lady says, “I know you’re out there.” Natasha responded, “I know you know I’m out here.” Then she came face to face with Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh, “So are we gonna talk like grown-ups,”
Natasha asked. Belova was part of the same training program in the past before and was her bitter rivals. They met again after several years. They had quite some action scenes together while another third woman.
The trailer ends with a shot, Natasha falling from the sky with some bullets from the masked men. This trailer gave us a chance to learn about her past, about how she teamed and broke up with them, and then reunified to save the day.
For now, the Black Widow seems she’s back to her heroic self again.
