Former Disney star Selena Gomez recently said that she’ll leave Instagram and other social media apps once again after the release of her album, “Rare.”
Many celebrities have already left social media. Some leave if for good while others just take some time off to shake off the bad energy.
Speaking with Wall Street Journal Magazine, the “Look at Me Now” singer confessed that she is thinking about deleting Instagram on her mobile once again.
The “Wizards of Waverly Place” actress confessed that she has been active on social media these past few months since she was on the process of promoting her recent album.
The 27-years-old singer said she wouldn’t be active on the app again since she said the app has been unhealthy for her.
“I got back on [Instagram] because I was releasing music, but I just told my best friend Courtney [Lopez] yesterday, I’m going to have to take it off my phone again soon,” the singer-actress said.
“They know I have an addictive personality, and it can be unhealthy,” adding that she will be out of the app for a year and a half.
This was not the first time Selena left Instagram.
In September 2018, she left Instagram to “live life to the fullest.”
“Taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given. Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember – negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi,” she said in a post right before she went on her hiatus.
In another interview with Vogue back in 2017, the actress stated being a little fixated with the app but ends up feeling like sh*t after browsing her own social media account.
Selena Gomez, at the moment is still active on Instagram and other social media platforms. Recently, she even went on live to stream the tracks from her newest album for some of her followers to share.
The live feed went on for about 30 minutes where Selena was seen jamming with friends.
