After the holidays and all the celebration, it is but much too sad to learn about the murder of Kevin Bacon, the beloved Michigan hairdresser.
He was gruesomely murdered on Christmas.
Bacon, who was still 25, was mutilated and partially consumed after he was killed by a 50-year-old man named Mark Davin Latunski, whom he had met on Grindr according to the reports from WJRT-TV in Flint, Michigan.
On Christmas eve, he started to be missing. He was going to be on a date with someone he met on Grindr, and he told his roommate and best friend whom he knows for almost two decades, Michelle Myers. He then sent a text message to her, letting her know that he would be late at home and that he was having fun.
Bacon didn’t return home from then on. His father, Karl Bacon, called on the police on the day of Christmas and said that Kevin didn’t show up for their family gathering. The car of Kevin was found at parking at a Family Dollar Store. His wallet and phone were there.
The Clayton Township Police were able to retrieve the messages between Bacon and Latunksi, which lead them to the home of Latunski in Bennington Township.
On December 28, State Troopers went to his home and checked his house. “Troopers check the upstairs. They check the main floor, and they check the basement,” Michigan State Police Lt. Dave Kaiser told WJRT. “When we’re checking the basement, they find a hidden room in the basement.”
The police found a hidden room in the basement and said Bacon was found there “hanging deceased and naked from the celinlig”.
Latinskil admitted that he killed Bacon and explained that he stabbed him in the back of the neck and slit his throat before he hung his body upside down. He also admitted that he cut off his testicles of Bacon and ate them.
Investigators said he might have died on the eve of Christmas or Christmas day.
His dad said, “It’s gut-wrenching to hear the details, and we’re beside ourselves, I’m going to remember him how everyone else remembers him, that he’s a good person who was passionate and cares for people.”
His best friend described him as “a colorful, vibrant being both inside and out. He did what he wanted to when he wanted to, and let very little hold him back. He was attentive and could remember all the small details – even all the ones that you forgot,”.
Kevin Bacon, the actor, even paid tribute to the hairdresser on his Instagram last week “For obvious reasons I’m thinking this morning about the friends and family of this young person Kevin Bacon. His life was taken from him much too soon. His love was hairdressing. I bet he would have done a great job on this mess on my head. RIP KB.”
Latunksi, on the other hand, has not been determined yet if he will be charged with first or second-degree murder.
He will be back on January 8 in the court to face his charges.
